Dialogue
through
Cooperation

We explore how cities can become more inclusive and sustainable through community-based participation. We do this through various joint academic activities and exchange formats between partner institutions in Germany and countries of the Muslim World.

Inclusive Cities is a DAAD-funded academic cooperation that brings together partner institutions from Germany, Lebanon, Oman and Egypt to navigate the relation between community-based participation, inclusive urban planning and sustainability.

Through various exchange and collaboration formats, it creates spaces for cross-contextual dialogue, shared learning and joint reflection on topics of urban inclusion, participation and sustainable development. A special focus is on understanding how urban spaces are planned, experienced and transformed across different urban realities.

The aim is to foster, consolidate and maintain specialized cross-regional dialogue between higher education institutions in Germany and countries of the Muslim world, by forging a growing partnership that promotes intercultural understanding, enhances the quality of teaching and research, and contributes to more inclusive approaches to urban development.
